Dr. Corey Reeves joined Excel Pain and Spine in 2021. Prior to joining Excel Pain and Spine, he was an Assistant Professor at the Wake Forest Baptist University. He served as Medical Director for the Wake Forest Premier Pain Clinic located in High Point, North Carolina. He was responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows the latest research-proven treatments in the field of Interventional Pain Management.

Dr. Reeves was born and raised in Wisconsin; however, Florida is now home for his family after relocating in 2005. He completed his Undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Doctorate, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency, and his Master’s in Business Administration, all at the University of South Florida.

He left Florida to complete his ACGME Board Accredited Pain Medicine fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist University, Carolinas Pain Institute, and Center for Clinical Research. Wake Forest’s Pain Fellowship is highly coveted and known nationally for its exposure wide scope of pain conditions and development of implantable device technologies.

His clinical interests include the application of the latest research in the fields of neuromodulation and regenerative medicine. These minimally invasive techniques represent the growing list of treatments aimed at reducing patients’ pain, improving their quality of life, and reducing the reliance on chronic medications.

In addition to clinical medicine, he is passionate about changing the way healthcare is delivered. Dr. Reeves earned his Master’s in Business Administration in an effort to change healthcare policy, protocols, and standards of care. During his chief resident year, he authored protocols to improve the safety of Veterans undergoing rehabilitation after recent surgeries. He has presented new technologies to challenge the standard in healthcare in multiple entrepreneurial seminars both nationally and internationally, including events at Google and Florida Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking at Alafia State Park and traveling with his growing family.

“I joined Excel Pain and Spine because I wanted to be part of a practice where I would send a family member for care. The pillars of the practice are integrity, quality, and patient outcomes, which guides our every decision.” – Dr. Corey Reeves, M.D., M.B.A.
