Dr. Neal Shah joined Excel Pain and Spine in December 2021. He graduated from an accelerated 6-year BS/MD program from the University of Akron and Northeast Ohio Medical University, and then continued his training in Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He completed his ACGME accredited fellowship at the University of South Florida (USF).

Dr. Shah is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain management doctor specializing in a multidisciplinary and personalized approach to treating painful conditions. His highly complex pain conditions treatment includes pain medication management, customized physical therapy, and fluoroscopic/ultrasound-guided pain and spine procedures. These procedures include implantable spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulators, radiofrequency ablation, targeted drug delivery systems, kyphoplasty, spinal tumor ablation, headache/facial pain management, and various complex neurolytic injections.

In addition to his role as Former Chief of Interventional Pain Medicine at Moffitt Cancer Center, his passion for teaching includes being an assistant professor at the University of South Florida for continued training of medical students, residents, and fellows in interventional pain. He has presented at national meetings and served as a host for numerous educational cadaver labs.

Moreover, Dr. Shah has contributed to review articles, book chapters, publications in several highly acclaimed journals and developed a national curriculum related to interventional pain management.

With an extensive knowledge base and clinical experience, Dr. Shah brings his expertise in interventional pain management to Excel Pain and Spine.
