Meet Dr. Laura Grimsich

Dr. Laura Grimsich joined Excel Pain and Spine in 2023 as part of our initiative to provide interdisciplinary care within our practice. Dr. Grimsich provides the mental health portion to our team. She has been a practicing psychiatrist for over 25 years. She has experience with many treatment modalities.

She began her career training medical students and residents at the University of South Florida. She was with the Tampa VA medical center for over 15 years and was the Medical Director of the Mental Health Intensive Case Management Program specializing in the treatment of patients with severe mental illness.

After leaving the VAMC, she worked in the private sector primarily caring for patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and post traumatic stress disorder. During this time she identified the growing need for new treatment options to address intractable depression. She decided to increase her use of newer, noninvasive, neuromodulation techniques, particularly repetitive transmagnetic stimulation (rTMS). After noting the overwhelming success her patients experienced, she decided to focus on this treatment modality in her practice. This culminated in her joining Excel Pain and Spine to provide our patient with rTMS therapy for depression.
